Low Carb Desserts

In order to lose weight, one has to pay close attention to one’s daily food intake. Do you have a lot of carbohydrates in your diet? Do you eat foods with a lot of fat content? Carbohydrates are things that you either need to avoid or consume in moderation. Carbohydrates, especially, are in every staple food there is. We need to try and consume carbohydrates in moderation, in order to stay healthy and to lose weight. Here are 3 easy low carb desserts that you can enjoy.


Watermelon and blueberry ice pops

This recipe has a total carbohydrate serving of 8 grams, and is extremely easy to make. The ingredients that will be needed for this are:

  • 3 ¾ cups of chopped and seedless watermelons
  • 2 tbsp of lime juice
  • 1-2 tbsp of sugar (to taste)
  • 1 cup of fresh blueberries

Additionally, you will also require freezer-pop molds for the ice pops. First, take the lime juice, watermelon pieces and blend it until the mixture is completely smooth, add sugar to taste. Next, add the blueberries in the freezer molds and add the watermelon mixture until the mold is full. Place in the freezer for a total of 6 hours. Once it’s completely set, dip the molds briefly in hot water to separate the ice pops from the molds.

Fruity Mousse

This delicious mousse needs less than 5 ingredients and has only 9 grams of carbohydrates. You will need:

  • 1 pack (8 oz.) of cream cheese (fat-free), softened.
  • 1 tub of low-calorie, soft drink mix (Crystal light Pink Lemonade Flavor)
  • 1 cup of skimmed milk
  • 1 tub (8 oz.) of whipped topping

First, take a large bowl and with an electric mixer on a medium speed, beat the cream cheese along with 1 ½ tsp of the soft drink mix. Gradually, add the milk, and mix it until it is properly blended and smooth. Gently and slowly add in the whipped topping until the entire mixture has been blended properly. Pour the final mixture into individual dishes and freeze until it is firm. You can serve it with fresh fruits.

Chocolate Banana Grahams

Another easy low carb dessert , it requires only 4 ingredients and has 13 grams of carbohydrates. This simple recipe requires:

  • 1 square piece of graham cracker (Break into 2 rectangles)
  • ½ tsp of any chocolate-hazelnut spread (preferably Nutella)
  • 2 slices of banana which is about 2 inches long
  • A ½ tsp of shredded sweetened coconut (you can toast it if you like)

Just take a rectangular piece of graham cracker, spread Nutella (or your choice of spread) on top, add a banana slice, and top it all off with a sprinkling of coconuts.

One should eat foods, preferably with low carbohydrates, as an abundance of carbs causes one to gain weight. Also, it is unhealthy, because of which people these days usually try to decrease their carbohydrate intake.
